Karen has spent nearly two decades in the insurance industry, primarily serving public entities, where she has learned that no two days — and no two risks — are ever the same. She began her career as an underwriting assistant and advanced to Underwriter in 2015, working with the First Fire program and developing a strong appreciation for the details that help protect communities. Outside of reviewing submissions, she is often covered in dog hair as a foster for rescue dogs, believing her home is simply a temporary stop for four-legged friends in need. She also volunteers as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), advocating for children in the court system. Protecting and supporting people and communities is not just her profession — it is a personal passion. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Karen joined Amynta EOB in January of 2026 as Senior Production Underwriter for the Water Program and Fire & Rescue Program.
